Middle School

Our Middle School program provides a challenging and stimulating environment in which our students can learn. We know that young adolescents learn best when they are given the chance to engage actively with the material they are studying. Our dynamic classrooms provide our students with opportunities to develop the academic and critical thinking skills needed for success in school and in life.  We are further committed to providing programs in the fine and performing arts, physical education, athletics, robotics, debate, and community service that enable our students to develop their talents, their character, and their leadership skills. We endeavor to develop students with strong work habits, to encourage them to ask questions and take risks, and to enable them to become their own advocates.

Our nurturing and inclusive community provides Windward’s Middle School students with an ideal environment in which to learn. We recognize that young adolescents thrive when they have strong bonds with the adults in their lives. Our Middle School faculty members are talented, caring, and accessible individuals devoted to developing meaningful relationships with our students. We also place a strong emphasis on making sure students feel a sense of belonging and comfortable being their authentic selves. We trust that our Middle School students will move into the Prep Division as self-assured and well-balanced young adults with a genuine love of learning.
