Sports Camps

At Windward, we believe the strength of our athletes comes from the support of the Windward community. Running faster, jumping higher, and increasing scoring are just a part of what Windward offers young athletes. Windward Summer Sports Camps work on the total athlete, improving performance and encouraging good sportsmanship, teaching pragmatic leadership, and forging life-long camaraderie.
 
Our coaching staff is composed of the most skilled professionals in their fields and have competed and coached at the highest professional and collegiate levels and are able to share these experiences with the student-athletes in our camps.

  • Baseball Camp

    Under the leadership of former Division 1 NCAA player at Cal State Northridge and current Windward Baseball Program Lead, Nolan Flashman, Windward Summer Baseball enables participants to learn the fundamentals of baseball in a fun and competitive atmosphere. Campers are broken into groups based on age and experience level in order to facilitate learning for everyone from beginners to elite-level baseball players. Campers will learn proper technique for fielding, throwing, hitting, and base running, while also having the opportunity to compete in fun games and competitions.

    Led by former NCAA and current Windward Varsity Boys Coach Colin Pfaff, this clinic provides participants with the opportunity to develop the skills vital to success on the court in a fun and competitive atmosphere. Campers are broken into groups based on age and experience level in order to facilitate learning for everyone from beginners to elite-level basketball players. The morning is devoted to warm-up, ball-handling, passing, shooting, defense, footwork, and contests, while the afternoon provides campers with the opportunity to engage in games and competition with other players of the same level.

    New for 2019! Finish your Summer with a three-day Elite Skills Clinic. Campers from Grades 5-8 will hone their skills in the morning, while the afternoons will be all about competing. Led by former NCAA and current Windward Varsity Boys Coach Colin Pfaff, this camp provides participants with the opportunity to take their skills to the next level. Morning sessions will include not only advanced on-court skill work, but in-depth film review to help campers become well-rounded students of the game.

  • Football Camp

    Windward Football Camp will teach participants the skills and techniques that will enable them to be successful on the football field. Led by Windward’s Head Varsity Football Coach, and former Division 1 player at Wyoming, Hasan Muhammad, campers will learn the fundamentals of football, including throwing, catching, blocking, running proper pass patterns, and kicking in a safe environment. Participants will not be wearing helmets and pads and will not be engaging in tackling or full speed blocking. Instead, the focus will be on teaching proper technique to foster success and safety while having fun.

  • Soccer Camps

    Under the direction of Windward Soccer Coach Ben Thomas, this camp enables participants to learn the fundamentals of soccer in a fun and competitive atmosphere. Campers are broken into groups based on age and experience level in order to facilitate learning for everyone from beginners to elite-level soccer players. For younger players (ages 7-9), the camp is a fun introduction to soccer that uses game-like activities. The program creates a well-paced environment that utilizes small-sided games. For older players (ages 9-14), we continue the development of technique and soccer skills through fun game-like fun activities, as well as introduce individual and small group tactics. The program for older players includes fast footwork training.

    Led by current Windward Boys and Girls Tennis Coach Ryan Shelven, Windward Tennis Camps are designed to enable camp participants to work on the fundamentals of tennis and hone their game in a fun and competitive atmosphere. Campers will engage in footwork drills and practice their serves, volleys, backhands, and forehands.

  • Volleyball Camps

    Windward Volleyball Camp is led by former Division 1 volleyball players and current Girls and Boys Volleyball Program Leads Amanda Westrick (Oregon) and Alexa Micek (North Carolina State). This camp enables participants to learn the fundamentals of volleyball in a fun and competitive atmosphere. Campers are broken into groups based on age and experience level in order to facilitate learning for everyone from beginners to elite-level volleyball players. Campers will learn proper passing, setting, and hitting footwork and technique while also getting to participate in doubles, triples, and six-on-six volleyball competition.
