Peggy Procter joined the Windward community in 2009 as Director of Upper School. Prior to Windward, she served as Dean of Students at the La Jolla Country Day School and Dean of Juniors and Seniors at the Branson School near San Francisco. Peggy received her B.A. in Government and Spanish from Dartmouth College and her M.A. in Spanish from Middlebury College in Madrid, Spain.

Daniel Gutierrez joined Windward in 2008. In addition to teaching the tenth grade history curriculum, Daniel co-chairs the Center for Teaching and Learning and directs the work of Windward's Writing Across the Curriculum Committee. Daniel received his B.A. in History from the University of California, Berkeley, and his Masters in History from Harvard University.
Dr. Thomas Haglund
Science & Technology Teacher, Dean of Science & Technology Outreach, Global Studies Teacher
Veteran Windward teacher and Science Department Chair Tom Haglund has been at Windward for over 25 years. He hold a B.S. and M.A. in Geology and a Ph.D. from UCLA in Biology. Tom continues his innovation of science education at the school by leading a research expedition of nine intrepid Windward students into Guatemala to study the behavior and habitat of birds coping with deforestation due to coffee production. The goal is a multi-pronged effort to give students legitimate field experience and contribute to ongoing conservation research on the university level.
Dr. Ernest Levroney
Upper School Dean of Students, Director of Entrepreneurial Program
Ernie holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from Bowdoin College and a Ph.D. in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics from UCLA. Ernie fell in love with research and education when he participated in a summer internship at the NIH after his senior year in High School. He developed a deep love and admiration for the way viruses work as that was the focus of his Ph.D. and Post-Doctoral work. Equally, he is passionate about teaching at the Secondary School level; he enjoys sharing his passion for science and the way things work with his students. In addition, Ernie is excited about developing an Entrepreneurship program at Windward; he feels that scientific research is essentially entrepreneurial endeavor. Ernie has 10 years of teaching experience in Independent Schools and couldn't be more excited about being a part of the Windward Community.
