Fall Musical Tops Jerry Herman Award Nominations

Windward’s Fall musical, “Chicago,” has been nominated in eight categories for the upcoming 2018 Jerry Herman Awards—tied for the most nominations of any high school in Los Angeles County. Honoring excellence in High School Theater across Los Angeles County, the Jerry Herman Awards are named after composer Jerry Herman, the creative mind behind such shows as “Hello, Dolly!” and many others.

Windward’s performance of “Chicago” was nominated for:

Best Production
Best Ensemble
Best Leading Actor: Conor Maduzia
Best Leading Actress: Hannah Kanter
Best Musical Staging and Choreography
Best Musical Direction
Best Lighting Design
Best Technical Crew

In addition, Windward’s production of “Chicago” has been chosen as one of only four shows to perform an ensemble number at the awards ceremony on June 3 at the Ricardo Montalban Theatre. The organizers have requested to see "All That Jazz.”

These nominations cap an incredible year for Windward Performing Arts. Congratulations to everyone involved in this amazing production!
