Director of Institutional Advancement & Operations, Dawn Barrett joined Windward in the Fall of 2011. During this time, she simultaneously completed her MBA from the Graziado School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University, where she graduated with distinct honors in Leadership and Organizational Change.
Dawn brings over 20 years of experience working within the non-profit and educational sectors. Under her management and administration, she has paved the way for stronger organizational infrastructure, and she has developed improved lines of communication among all stakeholders.
Though a Northern California native, Dawn moved to Los Angeles to pursue her undergraduate education at UCLA, where she graduated with a bachelor's in Art History. Following graduation, she began working for the YMCA, the nation's leading nonprofit organization. Shortly thereafter, Dawn began a family of her own, and devoted herself to raising her three children: Lindsay, Brian, and Casey.
Whitney Burke graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in print and digital journalism and also holds a certification in web design and development from Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Before joining Windward in August 2013, Whitney handled digital communications for the MacArthur Foundation’s Digital Media and Learning initiative. In her free time, she enjoys exploring and writing about the ways in which digital media are changing learning environments, civic traditions, and youth culture.
Jeff Lake graduated from Boise State University with a degree in English, Writing emphasis. Before joining Windward in November 2017, Jeff worked as both a staffing coordinator and freelance entertainment writer.
Jeff is responsible for managing Windward's website and oversees digital communication efforts. In his free time, he enjoys staying fit, writing, and cracking wise.
After graduating Windward in 2008, Jeff attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he majored in Psychology and minored in Education. Subsequently, he pursued his master’s at the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education, earning an M.Ed. and teaching credential.
Jeff is responsible for growing the tight-knit alumni community that Windward has instilled since its founding, creating opportunities for alumni to reconnect with the School and its teachers, and encouraging alumni to give back and support their alma mater. Jeff enjoys participating in organized sports in his free time and has especially fond memories of his days as a Wildcat competing on the Windward Basketball and Volleyball teams.
Robin Pickett joined Windward in April 2017 after four years at Marymount High School directing the internship program and other leadership initiatives. In her role as Director of Windward Network, Robin is responsible for growing the School’s mentorship and internship programs and will collaborate with Jeff Gilder '08 to identify new strategies for building a thriving network of parent, parent of alumni, and alumni professionals willing to support younger Windwardians.
Robin is a Los Angeles native and graduated from a local independent school. She attended Boston College and received her bachelor's in Political Science before returning to her hometown of Los Angeles, where she began working in the financial sector specializing in client services. Realizing that she wanted to work with tomorrow's leaders, Robin transitioned to the education sector. Robin and her husband, Jeff, reside in Mar Vista with their three children: Samantha, Teddy, and Timmy.

Director of Service Learning and Social Entrepreneurship, Co-Director of Diversity and Inclusivity
Ashley is the director of service learning and social entrepreneurship at Windward, a full-time role she started at the beginning of the 2017-18 school year. She joined the school community in 2016-17 as an assistant varsity girls basketball coach, a position she still holds.
For the previous two years, Ashley worked at Wildwood School in West Los Angeles, where she served as a health and physical education teacher as well an advisor and sports coach. During her tenure she devised and implemented numerous lessons involving topics of social, cultural and political relevance.
Ashley studied psychology at Philadelphia University where she was a member of the varsity women’s basketball team for four years. She then earned a master’s degree in school counseling from West Chester University before launching her career in education at Germantown Friends School.

Administrative Coordinator to the Advancement Department
Eric came to Windward in 2015, and currently serves as Associate Director of Special Events, assisting in the management of all on-campus events. Previously, he spent nearly a decade working as a script coordinator and staff writer on scripted comedies. It was during these long days, and long nights, and longer nights, that he developed an appreciation for all the behind the scenes logistics involved with producing an event every week, as well as an aptitude for keeping departments aware of inevitable last minute changes. From brainstorming ideas, to coordinating with other entities to make those ideas a reality (ideally under budget), seeing projects through from conception to completion is a responsibility he finds truly rewarding. When the ups and downs of the entertainment industry became increasingly disquieting, Eric set off to find an opportunity to apply his experience and enthusiasm elsewhere. Windward not only provided the stability he was looking for, but also an engaging environment where he spends his days working with a great team, doing what he enjoys, in support of an institution he truly believes in.
A Northern California native, Eric moved to Los Angeles from Sacramento, where he spent his childhood summers on Donner Lake in Truckee, CA, and later, weekends seeing concerts and baseball games in San Francisco. He is a fan of the San Francisco Giants, rainy days (on non-event days), and his dog, Beckett (aka Bug); Boston Terrier Extraordinaire. Eric is a member of the WGA, West, and a graduate of California State University, Long Beach (Go Dirtbags!).
Director of Development and Special Events Lindsay Knaub joined Windward School in August of 2011. Lindsay brings 15 years of event, marketing, and creative project management experience. She began her career at iconic entertainment companies Miramax Films and National Lampoon before moving into the new media and gaming sectors. After several years of freelancing, Lindsay was ready to find a more permanent home and has welcomed the opportunity to be part of the Windward School community.
Lindsay graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a B.A. in Film Studies and a B.S. in Business Administration/Marketing.
