Windward Dance Students Receive National Recognition

We would like to extend our congratulations to Ani Rosen (’19) and Leila Williams (’20) for their outstanding achievements! 
 
Out of a lengthy body of submissions, Leila’s Williams’ choreography 001-DESTINATIONShas been selected as a featured work at the 2019 New Century Dance Project Student Choreography Showcase on Friday, August 16th in Salt Lake City, Utah. Leila will join other exceptionally talented high school and university students from around North America in showcasing their talent and receiving valuable insights into the process and creative work of award-winning choreographers. 
 
The National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) has announced Ani’s selection by the National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA) adjudication committee as a National Finalistof the2019 NDEOArtistic Merit, Leadership, and Academic Achievement Award.This award is evidence that Ani has excelled in all three categories: Artistic Merit, Leadership, and Academic AchievementThis is Ani’s second year receiving the award, a rarity in such a highly competitive arena. 
 
In addition, NDEO recognizes NHSDA Chapter Sponsor and Windward Area Head: Dance, Alesia Young, for outstanding teaching, leadership, and guidance.
