Q What is the proposed plan?

In 1999, Windward was approved for two phases of construction. Part I involved a Learning Center building, a new Math and Science building, and a small addition to the gymnasium. Both buildings were completed in 2008. The second phase approved an additional 60,608 of space for a new auditorium. After receiving feedback from our neighbors, it was decided that the best location for the new building would be on a parcel of land adjacent to campus that is owned by the School.

Q How does this benefit the neighborhood?

The proposed plan will continue to allow Windward to host cultural and educational events and share our facilities with local organizations such as the MVCC Aging in Place committee and partner with local schools such as Grand View Blvd Elementary, Walgrove School, Mar Vista Elementary, and Richland Academy on service learning initiatives.

Q How will Windward limit cars coming to campus?

Windward will continue to implement an aggressive traffic management program, which is routinely reviewed and refined by an independent third-party organization. Traffic mitigation measures include carpooling incentives, bicycle promotions, and the addition of school bus lines. Windward is committed to implementing transportation measures that ensure that there are no increases to trips to and from the school.
