Since its founding more than four decades ago, Windward has continued to develop and prosper thanks to those community members, volunteers, foundations, and other friends who have given generously to ensure the continuous advancement of the school.

Environmentally Stable Campus

Windward prides itself on being a green campus and neighbor. We teach environmental responsibility to our students and live out those teachings by employing various ways to reduce our carbon footprint.

These include implementing an active recycling program, installing solar panels on campus to offset energy use, and installing efficient landscaping and bathroom fixtures to reduce water use on campus.

Windward has achieved Gold-level LEED Certification for Schools and is one of the few schools in California to reach this level of environmental excellence.

The proposed construction will build on our commitment to sustainability and be designed to meet LEED for Schools building criteria. The goal of the plan is to reduce water consumption and energy use through green building and landscaping practices.
