Tuition and Financial Aid

Windward School is committed to providing the best education for your child. We realize that this investment in your child's future, while worth the sacrifice, is challenging for many families. Our comprehensive financial aid program, along with flexible payment options, are ways we hope to make a Windward education accessible.
Windward School's commitment to diversity is an integral part of its educational fabric, inextricably linked to the mission of the School.Windward School is a welcoming, inclusive community that embraces diversity and encourages students to develop a deep understanding and appreciation of the diverse world they will inherit. Our commitment to socio-economic diversity is exemplified in the following ways:
  • During the 2019-20 academic year, over $2.3 million was dedicated to financial aid.
  • In order for students to be full participants in the life of the School, Windward’s financial aid program provides for more than just tuition. Textbooks, prom, trips, required school supplies, and other items are also covered.
  • Financial aid is need-based, and information about those who receive aid is kept strictly confidential. The goal is to create a community that is welcoming and comfortable for families of all socio-economic backgrounds. Our helpful staff works with families on an individual basis to help make the cost of daily life more affordable.

Financial Aid

While all applicants who are accepted to Windward are academically talented, financial aid is based on need rather than achievement. Families who wish to apply for financial aid should indicate their intention on the admissions application. A packet will be emailed, which includes the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS). The PFS, administered by School and Student Services via NAIS, provides information needed to calculate how much a family will be asked to contribute toward tuition.

Windward School is committed to your child's education and success. Please feel free to call us to talk about any stage of the process.

What is the PFS?

The PFS provides information needed to calculate how much a family will be asked to contribute toward tuition. Also included in the packet is additional information including a request for federal income tax returns and supplemental information forms, which should be returned directly to the Windward Admissions Office. Forms are emailed at the beginning of December and need to be returned by February 1 each year. It is important that applicant families who foresee a need for financial aid apply during the application process, as it becomes difficult to obtain aid for future years unless one can demonstrate an unexpected financial reversal.
