To enhance your opportunity to receive a one-on-one interview, please file your application along with the autobiography by November 13, 2019, as we have far more applications than we can accommodate for individual interviews. The final application deadline is December 5, 2019.
If space permits, please register for Open Houses online. Parents should register for one of our parents-only evenings (October 10 or November 21), and students should be registered for one of our Student Shadow Afternoon Open Houses (October 15 or November 9 for Grades 7 and 8, or November 9 Grades 9 to 11). Please note, November 9 is the only option for students entering Grades 9-11. Because space is limited, if your family is not applying for the 2020-21 school year, please continue to view our website for more information and then register for an Open House in the appropriate year.
Complete the online application for admission and submit it with the student autobiography and $150 application fee. The purpose of the autobiography is to acquaint the admissions committee with the applicant and might be based on a student’s favorite subjects, extracurricular activities, hobbies, special talents, and/or unique experiences (e.g. trips, summer camps, etc.). An application is considered active once the application, student autobiography, and fee are submitted to the Admissions Office.
The following forms should be downloaded, printed, and given to the applicant’s school and teachers. These forms are due after December 1, 2019, but no later than January 17, 2020:
Transcript Request Form
Math Teacher Recommendation Form
English Teacher Recommendation Form
Administrative Recommendation Form
Athletics Recommendation Form (Optional)
Arts Recommendation Form (Optional)
As seats fill early, please register for the ISEE exam as soon as possible. This test is administered by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB), which sets and collects the fee via their website: www.erblearn.org. Fee waivers for the registration are available upon request by contacting Lisa Walker at 424-289-1011, or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We recommend that students take the ISEE as early as possible. Applicants for Seventh Grade should take the exam no later than January 12, 2020, and request scores be sent to Windward School as soon as possible. Candidates for Eighth through 11th Grade must take the ISEE by December 8, 2019, and request scores be sent to Windward no later than December 11, 2019. The test may be taken up to two times per academic year at any test site. If a student takes the test more than one time, the Admissions Office would like to receive both of the applicant results. To ensure Windward receives the applicant’s results, parents must request that ISEE send Windward School copies. Our school code, 053323, must be included on the ISEE registration.
For 7th Grade applicants: Because applications have increased dramatically, we will not be able to interview everyone. To enhance your opportunity to receive a one-on-one interview, please file your application, along with the autobiography, by November 13, 2019. Once we have received your application and student autobiography, the Admissions Committee will screen applicants and determine if an interview will be granted. The final application deadline is December 5, 2019, at midnight.
For 8th through 11th Grade applicants: As space is very limited in upper grades, the Admissions Committee will conduct an initial screening of all applicants for each grade and then select candidates for a personal interview. Selected candidates will be notified by phone with an interview date. If an interview is not granted, you will be notified by mail in December or January. Upper School applicants must take the ISEE by December 8, 2019, to be included in this evaluation.
The final application deadline is December 5, 2019, at midnight
