Theatre
Theatre at Windward School centers on building a community of creativity, collaboration, and intellectual rigor.
Offering a variety of approaches to acting, musical theatre, production, and design, our program offers introductory and advanced level theatre classes to develop students’ technique and personal voice as an artist. In addition to our comprehensive class offerings, student actors and technicians are encouraged to participate in our production workshops which focus on process and creative expression, as well as our main-stage musicals and plays.

Our goal is to always aim for powerful, connected, honest work.Theatre at Windward a space for actors and technicians to investigate who they are and push themselves to be their most authentic selves. With the selection of great material - both in class and in our extracurricular productions, and both original material cultivated from the student voice as well as existing material representing the wide range of stories that have graced the professional stage - we hope to inspire student-artists to seize ownership of their education, broaden their perspective, and gain confidence and support in this close knit community. In addition to our comprehensive class offerings, student actors and technicians are encouraged to participate in our mainstage musicals and plays, as well as our production workshops which focus on process and expose young artists to the multifaceted and collaborative nature of the art form.
