Over Spring Break, two of Windward School’s premier music groups—The Windward Chromatics and The Windward Chamber Music Ensemble—traveled to compete at the renowned Forum Music Festival, and their performances struck all the right chords.
Both ensembles earned top honors at the festival, each receiving gold medals for their exceptional performances. These prestigious awards are reserved for the top ten percent of music groups in the country, marking Windward’s ensembles as among the finest in the nation.
In addition to the overall group success, the festival recognized standout individual and sectional performers. An Outstanding Musicianship Award was presented to Elliott Yun '27 for his exceptional cello performance with the Chamber Ensemble. The soprano section of the Chromatics—featuring Abby Ribakoff '25, Charlotte Cope '25, Maddie Oh '26, Olivia Stodel '26, and Camila Cardenas '27—also received Outstanding Musicianship recognition for their stunning vocal blend and artistry.
These accolades are a testament not only to the hard work and talent of Windward’s student musicians but also to the dedication of their music directors and the support of the school community. Congratulations to the Windward Chromatics and the Windward Chamber Music Ensemble for representing the School with excellence and artistry on the national stage!
