What a Par-Tee — 28th Annual Windward Community Golf Classic

Molly Hudson

Forty-eight members of the Windward community enjoyed a beautiful day of golf at Penmar Golf Course on June 8 for the 28th Annual Windward Community Golf Classic.  The diverse field was made of students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni.

The championship trophy was awarded to Corey Marquetti, Dean of College Counseling, and Ashton Wise, alum.  Their score of two under par tied the second place team, but a birdie on the number 1 handicap 6th hole earned them the first place prize.  Golf Coach and Math Teacher Ken Asher and Freshman Jack T. finished in second place. David Gallon, parent, and Will Gallon, alumnus, finished in third place with a score of one under par.

Prizes were also awarded to the winners of the closest to the pin contests on the three par 3 holes.  Elliot Y. '27 won on hole #3 with a distance of 6ft 3in; Ken Asher won on hole #5 with a distance of 26ft, and Corey Marquetti won on hole #8 with a distance of 10ft.

Mark your calendars for the 29th Annual Windward Community Golf Classic next year on Thursday, June 6, 2024.
