The pursuit and implementation of new ideas has been a hallmark of the school for more than four decades, resulting in a relentless search for new and better ideas that have made Windward into a leading independent school and a model for academic progress.

Community

Upper School Speech and Debate State Tournament Results

Windward Communications

Earlier this month, after an intensive competitive season, 14 members of the Windward Upper School Speech and Debate Team qualified to the State Tournament in Clovis, CA where they had the opportunity to represent our local league. While there, students were tasked with competing over the course of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday–turning the tournament into not just a test of their skills but also a test of their endurance. In the end, the team passed with flying colors. The team of Kennedy Richard '25 and Beth Davids '25 advanced to the final round in their event, Duo Interpretation, where they cemented themselves as the 7th best team in the state. For debagte, Carter Mitchell '25 and Teddy Sipkins '25, already a top 16 parliamentary debate team in the nation, lived up to the title by advancing to the semifinal round and placing as the 3rd best team in California. Congratulations to everyone!
