The Windward Omnicats recently competed in the FRC Los Angeles Regional at Da Vinci High School in Westchester, joining 43 other high school robotics teams—including international teams from Lyon, France, and Ankara, Turkey—for an exciting weekend of innovation and competition.
Coming off a strong performance at the Port Hueneme Regional, the Omnicats showcased their technical skills and teamwork once again. Their robot successfully scored during the autonomous phase of the match, and thanks to dedicated driver practice, the team consistently performed across multiple levels of the playing field. With a 5–5 record in the qualifying rounds, Windward ranked 14th out of 44 teams—a strong finish in a highly competitive field.
Although the team was not selected for the playoff rounds, their performance marked a high point in a challenging and fast-paced season. As they return to campus, the Omnicats are already looking ahead—focused on recruiting new members, outfitting their new space in the Innovation & Arts Center, and preparing for fall competitions.
Congratulations to the entire team on their hard work, resilience, and spirit of innovation!
