The pursuit and implementation of new ideas has been a hallmark of the school for more than four decades, resulting in a relentless search for new and better ideas that have made Windward into a leading independent school and a model for academic progress.

Community
Partnerships are at the heart of Windward School, whether among alumni members of the Windward Network, active volunteers of the Parent Guild, or civic organizations in our neighborhood of Mar Vista.

MS Debate Team Dominates First Tournament of the Season

Last weekend, the Middle School Debate Team competed at their first tournament of the season where they challenged 30 other teams and over 90 individual competitors. Across four rounds, they discussed various political and social issues- including the impact of social media influencers on society as well as the potential merits and harms of continuing financial funding to Ukraine. By the end of the tournament, the Windward team had taken home a total of seven different awards. The highlights of which include:

Morgan L. as 1st place speaker
Luca H. & Julian R. as 1st place team
2nd place overall trophy (marking the school with the 2nd highest cumulative amount of wins)
3rd place tournament trophy (marking the school with the 3rd highest win/teams in attendance ratio)

We also want to offer a huge congratulations to Oz M., Oliver E., and Kavi M. who all managed to earn trophies for their incredible results at the competition. We look forward to the remainder of the season, and are excited to see what the team will accomplish next!
