On Monday, Oct. 23, Windward Middle School Families gathered on the bridge for the first Middle School Service Learning event of the year! The "Halloween Spooktacular", a costume donation drive, was put on in partnership with People Assisting the Homeless (PATH). This event was such a success last year for PATH families that they immediately requested that we host it again this year! PATH has numerous sites located all over the state of California, and the donations were delivered to one of their family site locations so that the staff could host a Halloween event for the families living at the site and bring some Halloween cheer.
Over the course of the afternoon Windward families decorated pumpkins, made Halloween decorations, stuffed treat bags with candy and toys, and sorted and organized over 50 costumes that families donated. The event was a tremendous success and PATH families and staff will be overjoyed with the generosity of the Windward Community!
