Students in Windward’s Mandarin Program recently celebrated the Moon Festival, or Mid-Autumn Festival, with joy and laughter—coinciding perfectly with a brilliant “Super Moon” lighting up the night sky.
Throughout the day, classes came together for a festive celebration filled with culture, storytelling, and shared experiences. Students and teachers reenacted the legend of Chang’e, the Moon Goddess of Immortality, and sampled traditional treats such as lychee-flavored oolong tea, Chinese pomelo, and a variety of mooncakes.
More than just a celebration, the event deepened students’ appreciation for Chinese language and culture while reflecting the heart of the Moon Festival itself—gratitude, reflection, and togetherness under the same bright moon.
