Seniors from Maja Starcevic's AP English Literature and Composition elective "Love and Death" recently visited the LA Opera. Maja has cultivated a relationship with the LA Opera over the years through their Community Circle program and was delighted that this year's repertoire included an opera that is directly connected to the themes of her course.
For all but one of her students, it was their very first time to the opera.
"It was wonderful to see students connect the dots between the written word (the libretto of the opera), the music, and all the other artistic elements that go into such a production," Maja said. "I hope they continue to make those interdisciplinary connections on their own when they read, write, or engage with the arts!"
