On May 20, nearly two dozen Juniors in Honors History: The United States and the World visited Westminster's Little Saigon to explore the different facets of the Vietnam War and how it is memorialized. Students visited both a patriotic war memorial built by veterans and a refugee memorial constructed in a quiet cemetery. This field trip exposed Juniors who had just learned about the Vietnam War to its legacies and lived experiences.
"We are always excited for opportunities for hands-on experiential learning that allows us to use Southern California as a classroom," says History Teacher JP deGuzman.
Special thanks to Ben Mayer '24 for photographing the trip through his perspective.
