It’s an opportunity every singer dreams of, and now that dream is coming true for one Windward Prep student. On Saturday, Dec. 17, Abby Ribakoff ‘25 will take the stage at Carnegie Hall as a result of placing 2nd in the American Protégé Vocal Competition, an international competition that is designed for singers who seek to challenge themselves in a competitive environment. The first two winners of the international singing competition are awarded the opportunity to perform at one of the most prestigious stages in the world.
Abby has been singing since the 5th grade and has been a part of Windward’s vocal music and theatre programs, as well as training with her own voice coach outside of school. She is a regular performer at Windward’s Coffee Houses and has performed in several Windward musicals. Musical theatre has always been a passion of Abby’s. Come Friday, she will be performing “Wait A Bit” from the musical “Just So.”
“It’s an opportunity that people dream of for their whole life and I am so privileged to be performing at Carnegie Hall at such a young age,” said Abby.
The entire Windward community wishes Abby well in her performance!
