The pursuit and implementation of new ideas has been a hallmark of the school for more than four decades, resulting in a relentless search for new and better ideas that have made Windward into a leading independent school and a model for academic progress.

Since its founding more than four decades ago, Windward has continued to develop and prosper thanks to those community members, volunteers, foundations, and other friends who have given generously to ensure the continuous advancement of the school.

Chromatics Team Up with Brown University "Jabberwocks"

Now that's what we call a collaboration! On August 31, our Advanced Vocal Ensemble, the Windward Chromatics, kicked off the year with a workshop with the Brown University "Jabberwocks," a premier collegiate a capella group that is visiting California on their Summer tour. Fun fact—the business manager of the Jabberwocks, Dorrit Corwin, is sister to current Windward 8th Grader Emmett Corwin, and cousin to recent alumni Paige Pomerance, '22!

The two vocal ensembles performed for each other and learned part of a piece together, ("Run To You," arranged by the Pentatonix) which you can listen to here. It was an inspiring day for everyone involved!
