Windward Communications
On January 31, Windward 8th Grade Science students invited their fellow students and faculty members to take part in their Coding and Earth Science Project Exhibit Showcase. Over a four-week timeline, students looked at such Earth Science concepts as the Theory of Plate Tectonics, layer composition, and tectonic plate movement. They then worked together to craft an interactive presentation of their selected topics that combined both visual and written forms. Utilizing the coding practices learned in an accompanying lesson, students’ final presentations featured working LED’s, motors, and other circuit components. The resulting products proved as interactive as they were informative, making for a great teaching tool for their fellow science peers.
