Windward would like to recognize our amazing National Scholastic Art Awards winners, who were recently recognized for their 2024-2025 contributions! The Scholastic Art Awards is the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens. With 10 Gold Key winners, 4 Silver Key winners, and 20 Honorable Mentions, we’re thrilled to have so many talented winners and nominees.
"There is an electric pulse that is almost biochemical for an artist when a stranger affirms you for the work that you put into the world; it is like soul medicine and it feeds you,” says visual and media arts teacher Hannah Northerner ‘99. “When the judges at the nationally recognized and prestigious Scholastic Awards for Arts and Writing confirm something special about our students' work, I watch them in real time begin to see themselves as creative makers and blossom in new confident ways; fed by that biochemical, electric pulse."
